Abstract:

A recent survey of cicadellid leafhoppers in grasslands in Karachi, Pakistan revealed the existence of five new species of the subfamily Aphrodinae, which are described here. The new species include Scaphoideus karachiensis, Recilia setosa, Balclutha modesta, B. karachiensis and Parabolocratus setosus.
